Mermaiden

After many heated arguments from her government the underwater kingdom of Oceanna and that of the surface world. King Nepton ordered his oldest daughter Mariana to take to the surface world so that she could be her kindgoms spokes person where she was dubbed Mermaiden by the press. she uses her adventures on the surface world and publicity to help generate pressure to stop commercial overfishing of the waters near her home. only upon the surface world does she make the choice to take her mission to protect the surface world in hopes that it bring a peace to between her world and that of the surface, in hopes to bring an understanding and stop the overfishing of her peoples foodsource and way of life.

powers and traits
Water adapted physiology grants superhuman strength, endurance, durability, reflexes, agility, dexterity, healing, and senses. she can control the flow of water around her, using it to propel herself if she is in a body of water or use it as a weapon against any attacker. being a water themed character she can survive out of water for some time 2 hr max and must stay hydrated. but extreme temp, be it very hot or very cold are not ideal for her. she has basic telepathic ability to communicate with marine life, this also helps her communicate with people of diff lands as she can quickly learn and then speak diff languages, also she talks with an odd accent, and often mumbles when she talks as sound travels diff in water.

For this character i took insperation from various sources. first off i didnt want her to be a totally human looking girl with gills and what not. so i had her face resemble that of a 'Live Sea Monkey' which stays with me thanks to the short lived live action series. added some cheek gills and some fish stripes here and there to add the fish element. thru in some boney bumbs on her shoulders just to add something, the webbed fingers and toes where just to say 'duh, why wouldnt she'. her weapon was originally suppose to a giant fish hook as i thought it be 'ironic' for her, a fish person to use one. but then i saw it kinda looked like a seahorse shape. so i took that route and made it very stylized seahorse design
